The Potteries Museum & Art Gallery present Dirty Harry (Cert 18) for their latest Stoke Cult Film Club evening. Dirty Harry is a 1971 American neo-noir action thriller film produced and directed by Don Siegel, the first in the Dirty Harry series. Clint Eastwood plays the title role, in his first appearance as San Francisco Police Department (SFPD) Inspector "Dirty" Harry Callahan. The film drew upon the real-life case of the Zodiac Killer as the Callahan character seeks out a similar vicious psychopath. 

Tickets £5. Refreshments from 6pm and during the interval, film starts at 7pm. 


Pop-up Mini Cini at Goods Yard

Pop-up mini cini

Capital & Centric are opening the doors to the abandoned Signal Box at The Goods Yard for the first time in 30 years, with two nights of our pop-up mini cini. There'll be booze and beats, a tuck shop and free popcorn.

Tickets are £7 and include a drink and popcorn. Every penny from ticket sales will go to The Macari Foundation, a local charity helping to end homeslessness in Stoke-on-Trent.

Doors open at 7pm for drinks and films start at 8pm on the dot. Seating is allocated first come, first served, so get down early to grab a bev (or two) and a seat. Tickets are limited so book now!

Marvellous - Friday 17th March
The wholesome true story of local legend Neil Baldwin who started out as circus clown, before becoming the kit man at Stoke City FC and being named 'the best signing ever made' by then manager Lou Macari.

The Conjuring - Saturday 18th March
Join us for a spooky evening with paranormal investigators Lorraine and Ed as they work to help a family terrorized by a dark presence in their secluded farmhouse and uncover its macabre history.

Cruising Through Menopause is a hilarious, heartfelt, reassuring and unflinching look at the joys of menopause and friendship. When your life is a bumpy ride full of twists and turns, it's hard to find true friends. But step on board and we'll take you on a trip of self-discovery, love and friendship all backed by a soundtrack of toe-tapping parodied hits!

For these four ladies the menopause was not the beginning of the end, but the beginning of a beautiful friendship where love conquers, and friendships never fail.

So, all aboard at the Regent Theatre and you'll be laughing, singing and dancing, as you enjoy Menopause the Musical® 2 - Cruising Through Menopause.

Staffordshire Archaeological Day

Visit The Potteries Museum & Art Gallery this Saturday for an incredible day of archaeology. John Thomas (University of Leicester) will talk on the Rutland Villa Project. One of the most spectacular archaeological discoveries of recent years has been the three panel mosaic depicting Hector's battle with Achilles. John has been co-directing excavation at this previously unknown late Roman villa. County Archaeologist Shane Kelleher will present recent discoveries in Staffordshire. Dr Nigel Baker (University of Birmingham) "Into The Unknown: Excavations and Survey at Shrewsbury Castle 2019 -2022" Winston Hollins (SOTMAS) will talk on the extensive excavations focussed on the remains of a complex of C16th cruck buildings at Hilderstone. Earlier pottery suggests older settlement deeper down. Dr Helen Malbon, Keele University, "Combining UAVs and GIS for Earthwork Heritage Documentation and Visualisation". Helen has conducted drone surveys of Arbor Low, Gib Hill, the Bull Ring and Pilsbury Castle, all in the Peak District National Park, to build virtual models to monitor their condition and imagine their construction and evolution. Theresa Gilmore, Staffordshire's Finds Liason Officer will report on remarkable new finds shown to the Portable Antiquities Scheme. You are welcome to stay all day or visit at your convenience. This is a free event, held in the comfortable 300-seater Lecture Theatre at The Potteries Museum. There is a cafe on site and there will be guided tours of the Museum collection, including the new Staffordshire Hoard gallery.
