About
Trentham, in Staffordshire, has plenty planned to keep the whole family entertained this February Half Term. From the brand-new Fairy Quest and the return of Gandey's Circus, guests will also be able to see the first signs of spring emerge in the gardens and there's plenty to explore in the shopping village too. Visitors can make the most of discounted entry with Trentham's Winter Saver discount on all garden tickets.
Visitors to Trentham have a whole host of activities to look forward to this February Half Term. The Adventure Playground has plenty for all the family to enjoy together, including getting lost in the maze, flip a disc, zip wire, and making tracks on the train. Gandey's Circus is set to return on 17 February with a brand-new show, running until 5 March, which will see spring boarders, high wire stars and dancers. Trentham's Makers Market will also return on 18 February, showcasing original art, artisan food and drink.
The 725-acre estate is also re-launching the Trentham Fairies with a special commemorative 10th-Anniversary Exhibition Guide and brand-new 'Fairy Quest' for children to follow and find all of the 21 fairies located in the Gardens. All of the incredible sculptures featured are the work of Staffordshire-based, world-renowned artist, Robin Wight, who has worked with Trentham for 10 years. His fairy sculptures, made primarily from stainless steel wire, attract visitors from all over the world and Trentham is the only place they can be viewed as an exhibition.
To celebrate 10 years of magic, Trentham is also launching a photography competition with the chance for visitors to win one of Robin's large Dandelion Wish sculptures worth £1000. All visitors need to do is take a photo of a fairy sculpture in Trentham Gardens and post it on social media with the hashtags #TrenthamFairiesComp and #FantasyWire. Full terms and conditions are available at Trentham Estate Terms & Conditions - Trentham Estate.
Families can also enjoy spotting the first signs of spring amongst the gardens, with the first arrivals of the Spring Bulb Festival already blooming. February will see early crocuses and cyclamens coming up, whilst March will be dominated by large swathes of daffodil displays and the start of the pot displays with irises ready for the bees to enjoy.
The team at Trentham worked hard last autumn to plant an additional 42,000 bulbs, bringing the total bulbs planted at Trentham to over 1 million - one of the largest displays in the region.
Ensuring great value for money, Trentham currently has a Winter Saver offer available until 17 March, so access to the Gardens costs just £10.50 for adults and £7 for children, and those under 3 go free. Fairy Quest maps and stickers can be purchased from the Visitor Centre. Visitors can also discover more about the sculptures by following signage and QR codes in the gardens.
