About
A journey through 170 years of surviving in an ever-changing pottery industry. Trying to answer the question of what makes Burleigh different and why do some remain when so many other great names have disappeared.
Jemma Baskeyfield is the retail manager and company historian for Burgess & Leigh, working within the company for over 21 years and counting. She has become part of the Burleigh story alongside a team of dedicated staff, who find everyday to be different in this most unique of ceramic manufacturers. Preserving historical craft techniques, manufacturing underglaze transfer printed pottery in Middleport pottery since 1889.
This evening lecture is organised by Re-Form Heritage, the charity that manages Middleport Pottery and runs the Visitor Attraction.
The lecture will take place in the Burgess Room.
A bar will be available serving bottled beers, wine and soft drinks as well as small snacks.
Doors will open at 7pm to allow the audience to purchase a drink ahead of the lecture commecing at 7.30pm. Lasting 45 minutes to an hour, there will be time for questions and chat, before the site closes at 9pm.
