Join Helena in opening the Stoke Book Festival, when she will transport us to the slopes of Mount Etna, Europe’s biggest volcano. Helena's love of Italy has always inspired her writing, and her latest book, The Fire in the Mountain: Sicily, Etna, and Her People, was published in April this year. In it she tells us about her experience of living in a village on the slopes of Etna, describes fascinating people and austere landscapes, and considers what it means to make your home in the shadow of one of the world’s most active volcanos.
