About
Join us on a journey to PLANET DANCE
Aliens have landed in Newcastle Common and can only return to Planet Dance when they've learned how to put on a show – Earth style.
Whether you twisted your way through the 60s, did the shuffle in the 70s or pogoed through your punk phase, they need your help to get back home!
And so we're calling all Earthlings to come help these deep-space dancers master your moves and help them on their way. From rhumba to robot, floss to foxtrot, Charleston to the Cha Cha Slide, they want to learn it all!
Drop in to Newcastle Common any time between 11am and 3pm on Friday 29 March to help get this research mission off the ground.
But what is a show without style? Our curious visitors also need to know how to do their make-up to take them from facepalm to fierce and truly dazzle the crowd. If you have ideas and tips to pass on, they would love you to come by from 1pm to 3pm and share them.
Will our new friends be able to cram the whole history of human dance into one performance? Will they look absolutely fabulous? Will your moves make it into the final show? And will you join the boogie and get your groove on?
Find out all the answers when you join us at Newcastle Common on Saturday 30 March for performances that are truly out of this world!
All activities and performances are free and suitable for all audiences
The Earthlings behind Planet Dance are Anna-Louise McMinn, Pauline Mitchell and Caitlin Ross.
