The Staffordshire Hoard , which was exhibited at the Potteries Museum & Art Gallery, Stoke-on-Trent until 7th March received in excess of 50,000 visitors. The Staffordshire Hoard is officially the most valuable treasure ever found. Please don't forget to donate to keep the Hoard here. 59 items will be on display from 13th March to 18th April.

New Staffordshire Hoard display announced!
A display featuring 80 pieces from the largest and most valuable ever find of anglo-saxon treasure, The Staffordshire Hoard, has been on show at the Potteries Museum & Art Gallery. The display proved so popular, a second display of 59 pieces will now be on show at the museum from 13 March to 18 April 2010.Go

Stoke-on-Trent is celebrating its centenary! 31 March 2010 is the 100th anniversary of Federation Day, when the six towns of Stoke-on-Trent came together. There will be an exciting events programme taking place throughout the year. Keep checking this website for details!

The City of Stoke-on-Trent is perhaps best known for being the home of the pottery industry and if pottery is your passion then you will not be disappointed with the visitor centres, ceramic museums, factory tours and factory shops from the world renowned brands such as Wedgwood, Royal Doulton, Portmeirion, Moorcroft, Emma Bridgewater and Aynsley to name just a few. There are at least 30 attractions based here in the City.
If, however ceramics is not your bag then you will be pleased to know that we have plenty more to offer. Our leisure and entertainment facilities are well worth a visit from gardens like the 800 acre Trentham Estate, a Monkey Forest, Waterworld, Alton Towers or theatres. So whether you want a family holiday or a short city break we will not disappoint. The Staffordshire Hoard exhibition in February is sure to provide interest for everyone.
There are a variety of places to stay from four star hotels , bed and breakfasts , guest houses and self catering within the surrounding area and nearby Peak District National Park. Meeting your accommodation requirements will be no problem at all.
The city centre is the home of the Potteries Shopping Centre and many other major high street brands. However, shops are not all there is to offer as the city really comes alive in the evening too. There are a whole host of bars, real ale pubs and clubs as well as a thriving Cultural Quarter with the Regent Theatre and Victoria Hall offering some great performances from West End shows to well known stand up comedians.
The convenient setting of The Potteries, Stoke-on-Trent allows for easy access from nearby cities such as Manchester, Birmingham, Nottingham and Liverpool which are all less than an hour's drive away via the proximity of the local motorway network. The central location in the heart of England allows for easy access whether you are travelling by road, rail or air.
