The Potteries - Stoke-on-Trent

Stoke-on-Trent is affectionately known the world over as The Potteries. Officially now known as the World Capital of Ceramics, the City boasts the internationally acclaimed Wedgwood Visitor Centre and the award winning £10 million Wedgwood Museum. Offering craft demonstrations, stunning museum collections, factory tours, shopping opportunities and restaurant. It is business as usual for the Wedgwood Museum as they strive to save the Museum's collections for the nation.

Several other factories such as Moorcroft and Emma Bridgewater offer factory tours and with over 25 pottery factory shops to choose from including the world renowned brands of Royal Doulton, Portmeirion, Aynsley and Churchill there is so much to see and do. No visit would be complete without a look at one of the City's ceramic museums. Including the world's best collection of Staffordshire Ceramics at The Potteries Museum & Art Gallery and Gladstone Pottery Museum with its cobbled courtyard and bottle kilns.

There are 3 new pottery factory shops in The Potteries in 2011 including the Wedgwood factory shop on the same site as the Visitor Centre and Museum, Aynsley joins Portmeirion at Trentham and Denby factory shop in the Freeport Outlet at Talke.
