Details
The “Sheet Anchor” was built by Roland Cavenagh-Mainwaring in 1839 and has always been a public house.
The name “Sheet Anchor” is a nautical term defined as a large strong anchor for use in emergency. To this day we are the only public house in the U.K to hold this name.
As of September 2013 we opened the doors after an extensive refurbishment now offering a large selection of real ales, wines and champagnes. The restaurant offers a wide range of dishes selected carefully and wherever possible our ingredients are sourced and produced locally.
The building offers a cosy atmosphere with open fires to enable our guests to drink, dine and relax 365 days of the year.
Speciality: Daily specials are always available.
