The roots of the city's ceramic prosperity are found in the Minster: Josiah Wedgwood is buried in the churchyard and there are memorials to the Wedgwood, Spode and Minton families. The Minster contains unique Minton memorial wall tiles, as well as an exquisite Minton tiled floor in the chancel and sanctuary. Ancient monument Saxon Cross.
