Weekly 5km timed run in Hanley Park for all ages and abilities - complete the course at your own pace.

Children under the age of 11 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian at all times. Participants need to register in advance. The event is entirely organised by volunteers.

Amenities at the park include: all weather, floodlit sport court; cricket wickets; bandstand; bowling green; fishing; lake and fountains. This park has been improved through the Greening for Growth programme with the support of Advantage West Midlands and the European Regional Development Fund. The Greening for Growth programme of environmental improvements was launched in 2003 and is the largest environmental regeneration programme in the West Midlands. Greening for Growth aims to create Well used and maintained landmark parks that offer more leisure opportunities and attract visitors to the area. A North Staffordshire network of safe, attractive off-road routes for pedestrians and cyclists. Canals, rivers and disused railways will link green spaces with homes, work places and leisure facilities, 28km of greenways will be created or upgraded. A landscape to be proud of where major transport routes and developments are set in interesting, high quality landscapes.

Meets every Saturday morning by the bandstand - please note the meeting point will be subject to change during this year's park restoration project, but every effort will be made to ensure the run goes ahead.

Hanley Park is in Shelton, Stoke-on-Trent, within walking distance of Stoke-on-Trent mainline railway station. Pedestrian access is off the boundaries of the park - College Road, Avenue Road, Ridgway Road and The Parkway. The park can also be reached on the Caldon Canal, which runs through the park, and joins the Trent & Mersey Canal at Etruria Locks. Car parks are located off The Parkway and off Avenue Road.
