Stoke-on-Trent is one of the greenest cities in the UK with miles of rolling green open space. You're never far from one of the City's verdant parks, thriving wildlife areas, or meandering waterways.
Stoke-on-Trent is one of the few UK cities to boast twin canals running through its heart. Not only does the Caldon Canal, a strong contender for the title of England's most scenic waterway, start in Stoke-on-Trent, but the meandering Trent & Mersey Canal passes by some of Stoke-on-Trent's most traditional and historic potteries including Burleigh, Wedgwood Visitor Centre, and Wedgwood Museum.
What's also great about the City is that it is surrounded by fantastic walking country. A short 20 minute drive will take you deep into the stunning beauty of the Staffordshire Moorlands and Peak District National Park. With breathtaking landscapes as a backdrop coupled with with a wonderful network of footpaths and rights of way create some of the loveliest walks in the country.
