The New English Gallery Space and Shop
Gallery space and shop, next open Tue 2 May 2017 - Thu 31 Dec 2020, free entry
9-11 Lovatt Street,
Located in an old car garage, The New English gallery space and shop is based just off Liverpool Road in Lovatt Street, Stoke. We are only 5 minutes walk away from the train station, from Stoke Minster and from Spode where the 2017 British Ceramics Biennial is held (23.9.17 to 5.11.2017). We are also 2 minutes walk away from the Trent and Mersey Canal (off Osborn Bridge, Nr. 113b). Free 1 hour parking opposite our building and a public car park on top of Vale Street (2 mins walk).
We design and make high-quality fine bone china products, from mugs, cups & saucers to plates and wall art (huge installations of art on plates). We also do bespoke /custom-made work for private individuals and businesses. We are very proud to make everything in Stoke-on-Trent using centuries-old skills and craftsmanship. We work with a number of talented artists and designers - Maxim from the band ‘The Prodigy’ amongst others. Ours is an Englishness that is as much about the Sex Pistols as it is about Wuthering Heights, as much Damien Hirst as Turner. It’s about a creative approach based on attention to detail, a sense of humour and a willingness to step outside the conventional comfort of sameness. If you are looking for edgy, unique and contemporary ceramics we are the place to visit, but if you are looking for nice floral design you won’t find it here!
We have worked with and for Harrods, P&O Cruises (Britannia), The National Portrait Gallery, Amnesty International and Transport for London, amongst others.
Our opening hours are Monday to Friday, 10.00am till 5pm, except bank holidays. Our Gallery space shows the breath of our ranges and in our shop you will be able to pick up a special piece at a great price.
